Subject          FW: OPEN CAHLLENGE TO PRESIDENT MBEKI RE LAND REFOM IN SOUTH AFRICA

Hi Robert,

This is beginning to look like the classic run-around. I hope you realise all of this is being featured on the Internet for all to see. If you searched land reform in South Africa on Google today you would see that it tops the latest news list.

What exactly is so difficult in printing these e-mails and the letters I forwarded to Christine and giving them to the President?

  1. Ask him to start with the first letter I wrote and end at the last. Simple, see!
  2. Then he must of course see what happens when his government arrogantly ignores serious issues affecting the lives of others. When his head of Land Reform in the Northern Cape struts around telling people he throws correspondence in the waste paper bin. When people have been provoked over a very long time to justifiable anger. Everyone here and abroad that has been alerted to this issue and they are a massive host are waiting for his answer, or his admission.
  3. For all that, he will need a copy of the E-mail trace following below this message and the News reports that went out.

I was led to believe by you that, that that was the function of Christine. Now she has referred me back to you. What are you playing at here?

Is there anything else I can do to get the point across?

  1. The President’s E-mail is set out on the government’s web page.
  2. Surely, it cannot take a week for him to get to see what people have sent to him.
  3. Surely, he is alerted about serious matters of this nature.

Tell you what. I will assume his office is in a little chaos. Lets give it another three days, say until Friday. If he has not answered by then we will assume he cannot or has elected to acquiesce to the allegations. At that point, an article will be published to that effect and sent to all of the world media. Then the status quo of Land Reform in South Africa and more especially the arrogant and dictatorial way in which serious issues are being handled will be known by everyone.

People who should have been given their land in 1996 and 1998 according to Acts of Parliament passed by this government, are starving today while your Minister of Land Affairs struts around controlling no less than 30 odd million hectares of land that she inherited from the apartheid era.

Do you think these people can starve another 3 days while you get around to doing your job?

Come on Robert, forget me, I am just an angry white person trying to help some of the victimised poor in this country. Vent all your partisanship, racism or hatred against me, I am used to it by now, but do it for those poor people at Goodhouse who have to look on while their children get thinner each day. Get off your butt, print this stuff and get it to the President now and stop shifting the responsibility. Do it now for God’s sake!

Amazed,

Izak Labuschagne

Hi again Christine,

The website has been updated with the latest developments. See http://www.izak.co.za/Full%20and%20Frank%20Disclosure%20of%20Investment%20Risk.htm and http://www.izak.co.za/EmailstoPres.htm . The E-mail I used in all previous correspondence namely President@po.gov.za and to which you replied showed Gary Brown as the auto respondent (see below). In other words, that E-mail address is correct and as in previous cases did work.

Be that as it may, please print the links, all the current correspondence and attachments and deliver to the President’s PA for his personal attention.

Yours truly,

Izak Labuschagne

Hi Christine,

Words cannot express how encouraging your e-mail is. It shall be posted on the net immediately.

My Client, the leader of the Goodhouse community and not I, posed a question to the President at an Imbizo. You will be able to glean the details from the first of the 4 letters attached hereto. As pointed out to you and as you will note, the letters were all sent to the E-mail addresses set out on the official government web sites. As further pointed out, all the letters are posted on my website at http://www.izak.co.za/Full%20and%20Frank%20Disclosure%20of%20Investment%20Risk.htm. Further that I have persisted with a constructive approach as can be gleaned from the link http://www.izak.co.za/ARS.htm.

Please be sure to alert the President personally of this matter as the department of Land Affairs has repeatedly adopted a hostile attitude with regards to this issue, especially when I came up with solutions for the willing buyer willing seller policy. In any event, my clients at Goodhouse have repeatedly reported that the MEC for land Affairs in the Northern Cape and the department of Land Affairs have on several occasions told them that my correspondence is simply discarded when received.

The postings on my website are therefore born out of legitimate exasperation. The tone is one of self-defence against what has undeniably manifested as open hostility from the government. Remember one thing, I am fighting here for the rights of a coloured community, not whites. Remember too that they are starving and all their attempts at getting justice have been opposed in an extremely hostile fashion.

This matter is very serious indeed and should not be referred to a department that has failed to deal with it properly over the last 4-5 years now. It has escalated to Presidential level, because all other remedies have been exhausted.

I trust the President will be duly advised and that he will personally see to it that this matter is resolved and quickly. There is a lot of work to be done in the land reform sector and there are many making an effort based on a reasoned and balanced approach. If the government continues to supply evidence that paints the ugly picture now disclosed on my web page I fear that the future for land reform in South Africa will indeed underline the allegations I seek full and frank disclosure on.

Yours truly,

Izak Labuschagne

Dear Dr Labuschagne

On behalf of the President we acknowledge receipt of your e-mail.

In your conversation this morning, you stated that you have addressed the issue with the President at an Imbizo.  Thus I have forwarded it to the organiser of our Imbizos so that he may follow up.

I have also contacted the office of the Director-General of Land Affairs so that they can investigate and respond to your allegations.

Sincerely

Christine Groenewald

Dear Mr. President, Deputy Minister of Land Affairs and their respective secretaries,

The attached letter has also been posted on the internet because of the insidious habit of your respective offices of not answering important and challenging correspondence. Your failure to face this issue will serve only to underline the allegations against your government and that is that you are deliberately sabotaging the land reform program in order to further your own ends. Ends which your deputy president let slip. Ends in line with that of Zimbabwe.

This letter will be forwarded to all of the international media if by close of business today I have not received the courtesy of a reply.

Yours truly,

Izak Labuschagne
